ADARNA 2

The Ibong Adarna is the magical bird at the heart of a classic Filipino korido, a narrative poem following three princes, Don Pedro, Don Diego, and Don Juan, on a quest to cure their father, King Fernando.

Perchd on the Piedras Platas tree, the Adarna sings seven songs, changing the colors of its feathers with each one. Its enchanting voice lulls listeners to sleep, while its droppings can turn them into stone. Guided by a wise hermit, Don Juan succeeds where his brothers fail.

Beyond its magic, the tale explores envy, betrayal, compassion, and forgiveness. The Ibong Adarna stands as a vibrant testament to the richness and diversity of Philippine literature, reflecting the boundless imagination and enduring artistry of its storytellers.

This is our Adarna, reimagined through the eyes of INDIO FILIPINO.
